Itunes issues

running mac os x 10.5.8 and Itunes 10.5. Can't do anything with my Ipod because Itunes keeps saying the disk can not be found. I've rebooted computer/ipod. Is this an Itunes or Ipod Issue? Should I try downloading the older version of itunes? The Ipod says it's connected on the Ipod screen. Connecting with USB. I hate itunes.

It sounds like an iPod issue to be honest.
Plug it in and see if you can restore the iPod.

Hmm, do you have a spare cable?

Try resetting the iPod by sliding the on and off switch then leave it off now hold down the menu and center button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears and then let it resume when all is done try hooking back up to your Mac and you may still have to do a restore. This can happen if the cable comes loose without unmount/eject first .

Is there an accompanying error number? Does it happen to be either 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439? If so, take a look at this.
