Steam folder pops up every time i start my Mac

Hey Guys..

I have installed steam on my iMac, every time i start my computer the steam folder starts. When i shut down the Mac i unclick the '' open windows again etc ''
What should i do to prevent the steam folder to pop up every time i start my Mac?

Seems like I vaguely remember that happening also and don't recall how I stopped it for sure.

Try a right click on the Steam icon in the Dock - head for Options and make sure nothing is checked in there. Then check the Startup items in your user account in System Preferences.

It's because Steam is trying to start at login. For some reason, the app is treated as a folder. Remove it as a startup item in the Accounts system preferences pane.

I thought as much when i read this thread yesterday but didn't want to give the OP a bum steer.
