Hi all, Im a noob when it comes to fixing macs so i was wondering if anybody would help me with my problem. I lost my mac os x discs when I moved houses about 2 years ago. I have a mac g5 (not the intel one) that I bought a new hard drive for since the last one went out on me and i was wondering if it was possible for me to install os x somehow on the hard drive from a windows computer and then plug it back in the mac and boot it? If so, what format would it have to be? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi and welcone to the forums.

You NEED the install DVD that came with the machine or bought ones compatible to your machine. There is no way to do what you ask without the install DVDs
Sorry to be the barer of bad news.
