I have an earlier 2006 2.0ghz intel core duo 1.5gb ram macbook pro. It had an 80gb hdd and I just replaced it with a 160gb hdd. I put it back together and turned it on, now the screen is completely blank. No white, grey, or anything. Any help?

Have you installed the OS yet

Try booting up off the OS install disk first

How much did you take the mac apart

Can you connect it to an external TV, screen or monitor (clue, command F1 toggles between extended display and mirror screen modes)

Do you think you might have accidentally disconnected the screen cable from the motherboard, although a standard hard drive swap should not have affected that

Is your computer equiped with a HDD light that tells you when it is spinning? if so check to make sure it is lit when you start the computer, if not you may be able to hear it spin just tomake sure that you don't have a faulty drive. But if you have no OS on it then that would probably be your issue.

The little light on the front of the macbook? Yeah, it turns on. I just tried to put the old HDD back in and it was still blank. I looked and it seemed like the LCD was still connected to the motherboard. I don't know what happened. I used it just last night.

Have you tried to plug it into an external monitor? only thing i can think of now is a dead screen, or something shorted out but idk what that would be.
