I need to transfer a 5 gig file from my mac to a USB drive and then to my PC. I changed the USB format from Fat 32 to NTFS, thinking that would allow the large file. My Mac sees the drive, but will not allow any transfer to it. The solution I need would allow me to use this USB drive between my PC and Mac for any sized file. Thanks for your help.

You need an NTFS driver on your mac. Check out Tuxera NTFS. There's a free trial.

I use NTFS Mounter, it's free and does the job perfectly.

I started a trial of Tuxera, and it did the trick. I'll check out NTFS Mounter. Thanks.
