Internet takes about 2 minutes after startup

I have a 13.3 inch macbook pro just purchased a few months ago.
I have lion OS
I am pretty good with PC but this is my first mac.
Just recently, after waking my computer up it takes about 2 minutes for the internet to work. The wireless symbol is connected and everything looks normal, just cannot connect.
I searched and could not find a resolution to my problem. Can anyone help me?

Yes it is

It may just be coincidence but have you looked to see if there is an update for your router and double check your settings in system preference > networks > advanced
see if anything looks out of place like a greyed out DNS after you unlock it.

Thats the thing its multiple internet connections, I have tried it at home and school and it results in the same scenario.
I dont see anything that stands out under dns.

sometimes itll speed up the internet coming back if I shut off wifi and turn it back on, but I really cant imagine why it doesnt work right away all of a sudden

I am wondering if you have a defective wi-fi card.

That would be very frustrating, its fairly consistent, internet doesnt work till a minute or so after boot. Then it works just fine, anything else I should try?
