I have a 250 gig external LaCie hard disk. Its the USB drive by Porsche. It suddenly stopped mounting the other days and has been like that since. I have tried disconnecting the power and reconnecting and tried a software called Mount Me but nothing seems to work. All the info on the drive was in FAT32 format. I need help, this hard drive has important data. Please!

Thanks in anticipation

What happens when you click the Mount button on the top bar of disk utility?

When you click on the disk itself (not the unmounted volume) can you run Repair Disk

Repair disk permissions. You can also try mounting it using the console.

Running disk permissions is not permitted as the partition doesn't mount. How do I mount it using the console? Someone please help me coz the data on this disk is very important. Thanks

When your in "console" type "man mount". A file will come up that shows the options for the "mount" command. Type df at the console prompt to see what the volume name is so you can mount it.l

It might just be the drive. The Porsche series of drives are known to be faulty.
