Hello forum..been having some issues with my 4 recently but this ones the strangest...

Today I no longer can use the speaker during a call..I can hear the other person but they can't hear me..figured it was the mic but what's odd is my voice control stil works?

Was plain on upgrading to the 4s on dec4th anyway but I use the speaker a lot lol

TIA

Try a simple re-boot of the phone first .

Do you use earplugs and if so try plugging and unplugging them as that would also mute the speaker and mic and one other thing try turning Bluetooth off as well as airplane mode on and off.

It's broke - best excuse to give the spouse on why you have to get the new one. ;)

Next things to try are a reset and then a restore.

Haha good one.. I'm gonna keep it till I get the S on dec4th then get it replaced and use it in the car as an iPod.

One thing I did learn is for speaker phone it uses the speaker at the top next to the head phone jack.. Voice command and Siri use the bottom mic speaker thus why my voice command still functions
