I thinking of buying a 15" Power book G4 next year. But I dont know if I should wait til Apple switches to the new intels. Are they going to be faster and better?
Any sugestions.

Thanks.

I’d go for one now, as you’ll run the risk of buggy hardware with a first generation Intel PowerBook. I’d rather go with what is known and prove to be fast and efficient. Then you can upgrade later on.

Your guess is a good as anyone elses. I believe that the PowerBook and the Powermac will be the last one to move to the Intel processor. If I understand what was said, the consumer line will move to the intel processor first.

Like the iMac. Does anyone know when the first Intel iMacs are supposed to appear? Or is it all speculation?

If you need a laptop, I would hesitate. If you are buying just to get something new, then it wouldn't hurt to wait, but it might be awhile.

I would say the intel PowerBooks that will probably at least be 6 months to a year away are going to be faster than the current model PowerBooks.
