My brother said that they stopped making MacBook Pros. I do not think this is true, because there are some up on the apple website that are brand new.
I think hi is lying.

He might be referring to "Macbooks" which has been true for some time now. Essentially replaced by the MBA.

Actually, with the news bouncing today, the OP's brother is more than likely referring to the Mac Pro, not MacBook Pro...

The MacBook Pro line was just updated, so if you're referring to the old model, yes, it has been discontinued (and replaced with a newer model).

They're still making Mac Pros for now, but rumor has it they're thinking of revamping the product or canning it entirely due to changing times and new means of expansion (namely Thunderbolt).
