The latest Mac Book Air has Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless technology.

Latest Windows Laptops advertises Bluetooth 3.0 Wireless Technology

The latest Mac Book Pro has Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. Will this get upgraded & if so it would require hardware upgrade or a software upgrade?

Does this Bluetooth 4.0 & Bluetooth 3.0 has any importance in daily laptop usage? Does this make a difference when come to use the remote printing or remote connection & transfers in the home?

My understanding its different hardware as it will act in single a dual mode and is designed mainly for less power consumption.
