Hi Anyone,
I have a PowerBook with the Intel processor running 10.7. I recently, using bootcamp installed XP. After a while it crashed on me. I tried reinstalling and it came up with the error that the HAL.DLL was either corrupt or damaged. No matter what I tried, I kept getting the same message.

The only option was to reformat the partition and reinstall, I was informed. This I did and still got the same error.

So I tried to remove that partition, reinstalled OSX. The partition remained. I wanted it off. Then I reformatted (erased) the Hard drive and reinstalled the software.

Now this is where it becomes interesting!

Since then I can only reboot in safe mode.
I have tried all the repairs and verifications and they all report OK.
But I still get only a blue screen on normal startup.

Any help to sort this will be gratefully received.

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
as far as I'm aware, you need to use bootcamp to remove the XP partition.
