Hey all, I've recently upgraded my MBP with a bigger hardrive, and everything went smooth, except I keep getting the login screen after startup. The password is not an issue but I want it to go STRAIGHT TO THE DESKTOP bypassing the login screen.

My Mac Pro goes straight to the desktop, so I emulated the preferences on the MBP but it still prompt the login screen? Any thoughts?

To reiterate, I want to BYPASS THE LOGIN SCREEN and go right to the desktop on startup, or restart. Thanks.

System Preferences > Security & Privacy > click the lock > uncheck "Disable automatic login." I'd suggest that, for a portable device, you keep this set as it is (with a login screen). It might be inconvenient but if you lose your MBP, you'll be glad you kept it set.
