I'm faily new to the OS X world...

On all our PC's we have some shell scripts that Map the corrrect Network share depending on the user type.

How would I do this even in its basic form in Tiger? I dragged the shares to the login folder but it actually opens the 5 shares in their own windows everytime you login.

I only want them to appear on the Desktop and therefore on Finder. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

i know in OS X.3, there was an option to hide things on startup. look for that in th startup items and try it.

Mapped Drives

All I do here is start up your computer on the network, connect to the drives so they appear on your desktop. Drag the mounted drives to the right side of your dock. Everytime you log in now, they should appear in your dock.
