I have Snow Leopard and the 2010 MBP and I've recently purchased Office 2011 for mac for classes.
The class I'm using it for requires a macro to be ran by pressing cntrl+a after entering my name (on windows).
For the life of me I can't figure out how to run this macro on my MBP, any suggestions?

Ask a classmate or the instructor for help. You haven't given much information, and it would be amazing if anyone could offer help with a macro they can't test.

Well, the macro is not the problem, I just need to know how to initiate it by the OS X equivalent of windows CNTRL+A.

I think you should be able to make a customized one for your purposes. Not something I've done before, but it's available. Maybe someone else can give more specifics if that doesn't help you.
