Hi,

My Intel MacBook 10.4.11 running Tiger has recently developed a problem with Airport.
I've never had a problem with wireless connection before.
The internet connection is always strong when I switch on but it seems to "get tired" so I need to move closer to the router after a few minutes.
I've checked the router firmware is the latest upgrade and have also reset it but the problem remains.

If you do not move closer does the Internet stop working or just the display on OSX by the clock get less bars?

Do you have any other wireless devices and are they working correctly ?
What kind of router is it and how old?
You could download iStumbler and look at signal strength and noise also being able to look at traffic amongst other info.

I have a Windows-based computer which is sited next to the router. It doesn't experience the same problem.
The router is a Netgear Dual Band machine and is a few months old.
I'll try iStumbler, thanks.

OK, I've downloaded iStumbler but I can't see how it will analyse the problem and provide a solution.
