Disc error while burning pics

Hi i tried to burn photos from Iphoto (Macbook 2011 OSX) to cd today and got the following message:

'The burn to the HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS23N drive failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error'.

any ideas

If you're trying to burn at the fastest speed possible, try a slower speed. You'll also want to try a different brand, especially if you're trying a cheap brand.

Hi thanks for the quick reply they were a cheap brand of discs (normally ok on windows) what speed do you suggest for the burn ?

If they are cheap discs, go nice and slow. I can't give you a perfect speed but maybe start at 4x and work your way down if you keep running into errors.

ok i think i was trying x24!!!!! i need to chill i will give it a go.Also on iphoto do you know why my holiday pics have been sectioned into the events folder ,how thats since the pics were taking over a week ?
