Hey guys I have a couple questions:
Can a Mac book core 2 duo boot with only one stick of ram?
and
Will the Mac turn on without a harddrive, just like an image on the screen or something?
thanks!

Yes* and yes.

*provided that "one stick of RAM" is sufficient as per the OS version's system requirements.

Would 512 be enough RAM for it to just turn on? My hard drive is not in yet and do I don't have one in it.

I refer you to my previous answer. System and RAM requirements for Lion are posted on Apple's web site.

Yes. But it doesn't have an operating system because it doesn't have a hard drive. Thanks for the help by the way.

Your Mac's Specs
2011 MacBook Air, i5 27" IMac, 2010 21.5" IMac, 2010 Mini, 2011 13" MBP, IPhone 4, Airport Extreme
Yes it will turn on as that is a function of the power button not the OS. It will not boot since there is no hard drive thus no code for boot instructions.
