Due to graphics issues, I'm trying to backtrack to Lion 10.7.1 or earlier.
I've been told several pieces of advice, and I've tried them, including erasing my Macintosh HD hard drive and reinstalling OS X on it, but it still somehow has 10.7.2 on my comp without me downloading the new version.
How can I go about this?

Thanks in advance. :)

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Depends on how old you computer is, and how did you get Lion ~ purchase from App Store or came already installed when new ~ you have not supplied any details. If it is a year or two old, you can format and install Snow Leopard if you have the disc and upgrade to Lion OS X.7 if necessary.

My friend who works at Apple purchased it on my computer for me.
It's pretty much brand new, I believe I bought it this August.
