My MacBook (Early 2008) won't turn on at all. The battery is charged and I know this becase the green indicator lights turn on. Also, the MagSafe LED does not turn on at all when the power adapter is connected to the computer. The computer does not make any sound nor does it attempt to boot up. I tried resetting the SMC numerous times as indicated on the Apple Support site, but that did not work. Any other ideas?? Thanks!!

It sounds like you may have a bad DC input board which is part of the power supply for your MacBook. Is there an Apple store nearby your home? If there is, I suggest taking it on in to have them look at it. Make sure you get an estimate of cost of repairs first before you allow them to repair it.

Thank you!

Fortuntaely there are plenty of Apple stores in my area and I actually have an appointment tomorrow afternoon at the Genius Bar. But as you can imagine, I am extremely anxious to find out what the problem is and what it's going to cost me. I called a couple of authorized Apple service providers and found that diagnostics alone run $75- $90.
Curious as to what caused this issue.
Thank you!
