Hello! I am new to the forum, and sorry if i place a question at wrong thread.

I have a Macbook Pro 1.1 Dual Core and sometimes when it starts to boot just before "bong" it beeps once but proceeds into the OS Snow Leoparad with no problems. I was wondering what could that be? I know the beep codes given by Apple and that 1 beep at startup means no RAM memory installed but in system profile shows full 2 GB and in diagnostic everything is ok. I have tried Apple Hardware Test and it passed all the tests. Anyone have this kind of "problem"?

I would try re seating both sticks of ram just to make sure.

Thank you for response.

Yes i have already done that (forget to mention it). There is Apple original 1 GB memory and other is also 1GB RAM memory but not from Apple. I have also switched them in diffrent slots. Hm, is it maybe because Snow Leopard detects hardware differently in some way? (core service, open cl)...

It's funny because everything is working ok, no shutdowns or things like that, memory is recognized as it is, but sometimes it has 1 beep at startup and boots fine as i already mention it...

Try unplugging one stick then see if it beeps repeat with the other stick just to rule out ram. Make sure the Mac is powered down and no chance of
static discharge each time.

I forget to mention that this only happens when macbook pro is on a battery. Can it be a battery issue? The only thing that i know is not working properly is battery...
