Transferring Text Messages from iPhone to iPhone

Hello. I would like to inquire when upgrading your iPhone, are you able to transfer your text messages too? Currently, I have a iPhone 3G and thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 4S.

You don't technically transfer just the messages. If you do a backup of your iPhone in iTunes you'll be able to restore everything to your new iPhone. This will restore all of your contacts, messages, photos etc. There's no way of just transferring messages to a new phone - restoring from a backup restores everything to the way your phone was when it was backed up.

@ EATTHERICH - I would normally just manually backup my contacts and the applications; thus how can I set my iTunes to backup everything on my iPhone (thanks for being patient with me in this area).
