transfering Itunes libary from pc to mac without an Ipod

I have just got my first mac :cool: , but I have 30gig of libary music on my pc (running XP Pro), Has any one done this yet if yes how did you do it. I do not own any kind of portable music device. As soon as I have move my music of the pc, I will be saying goodbye to music on the pc.

I'm new to the whole forum thing so please forgive me for a while till I get the hang of it.

MacBook Pro | LED Cinema Display | iPhone 4 | iPad 2
Create a folder on your Mac's desktop. Then you can copy the files from your iTunes directory on your PC to the folder you created on the Mac. Then drag the folder you created into the iTunes Library window and it will import them into iTunes on your Mac. After that you can delete the folder you made (since all the music would have been copied into the Music folder).

how would you recommend I connect the two computers together?
