Hi there! I am a self-proclaimed neophyte when it comes to computers- i just made the switch to mac and was really proud of myself for figuring how to connect my computer to my tv to watch netflix. However, now that I've unconnected the cord from my tv, my desktop is a dull grey color and won't seem to change back to my original desktop background. When I go to desktop controls, it shows the desktop background as fully functional, and I even changed the picture and still nothing shows up on my desktop. Also, when I do the gesture to show a mini version of my desktop at the top of the screen, it shows the correct picture. How can I get rid of this grey background? I tried looking through other forums, but everyone seems to be asking how to connect to the tv, not what to do -after- connecting to the tv. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Unusual phenomenon there. I'd suggest re-booting as a first step.

Glad it worked  Cause I didn't have much else to suggest.
