imac optical drive

Got a new iMac 3/4 years ago. Upgraded memory to 4 gig no problems, installed lion no problems. DVD stuck in optical drive will not come out. Will play DVD sometimes but now does not want to know. Right click on desktop icon(eject DVD) freezes desktop with spinning wheel. Will open other apps from toolbar but iTunes has failed to open a couple of times. Will hang on shut down only able to turn off by holding down power button. Rebooting I can hear Drive but it will not let DVD out. Is there any other way to get DVD out. Have tried twinstick on another DVD.:eek:

What happens when you reboot and hold down the L mouse button? You may need also to assist the eject process by manipulating a medical tongue depressor beside the read surface of the disk in the dvd drive slot.
