MBA with 480gb ssd?

whilst poking around bay i have come across many MBA with 480gb ssd drives. how is this possible?

They're replacement SSD drives. OWC sells several replacement SSD drives for the 2010 and 2011 MBA. Expensive though.

And only a tad over $1200 for the latest Aura Pro Express 480GB.

Pretty bad when you know you can get 2TB drives now for about $100. In my hard core gaming days I was paying $350 and up for 1 GB kits of RAM. Looking at it that way, not bad.

Lucky for all of us, there are some out there into technology enough and with the extra funds to pay for the latest and greatest and in time, bring those prices down. At my age, I'd prefer it was sooner than later though. We've been waiting several years for the price of SSDs to drop and so far, they haven't moved a whole lot.
