MacBook 13" iPhone 4
Hi,

I have a MacBook 13-inch widescreen notebook that i purchased new in early 2007. The operating system is OS X 10.4.11. But I have the iPhone 4 and when I try to sync it with my Mac it tells me that I need OS X 10.5.8 or higher. I researched and I think that I have to purchase this OS X 10.5.8 separately is this correct? Also can I by pass purchasing 10.5.8 and go ahead and purchase a newer OS like OS Lion?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

You would get a better response by listing your model and year or specs.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

On a MacBook Snow Leopard OS X.6 would be better, and even Lion OS X.7 depending on its specs which you have not included. Tiger is no longer supported by Apple and an old operating system.

If you can upgrade to Lion, be aware PowerPC applications will not work.

Thanks for the input.

So I can update from OS X 4 to OS X 6 and bypass OS X 5?

No it may not be possible and you have still not supplied details. Without specs like asking how long is a piece of string.
