Hi,
I need help!
I am a total newbie to mac i admit.
My uncle gave me his old g5 computer.
He said that he thinks the HD is broke and need replacement.
So i gave it a go...
I plugged everything and powered up the computer to see a flashing ?.
After searching the web i found that the reason might be because the HD is not properly selected in the peripheral manager.
So.. searched the web again.. found how to access the peripheral manager, which i did. But all i can see is a refresh button and a next button, nothing else. So, i looked like the HD is not detected.
Then i opened the case to find that there were 2 HDs.
Both looked properly connected.
I thought: hmm strange... both HDs dead!?
I had a spare working HD so i decided to install the working one.
But samething: no additional icon in the peripheral manager.
So i guess the problem is not the HDs.
But there is no computer beeps at the start up.
Any one have a clue what might be the problem? motherboard?
Thanks a lot!
