Canoscan- what is up

Hi

I have a Cano Scan LIDE 50 Scanner on my pc. i want to use it on my mac.

My mac is imac g3 with Mac OS 10.1.5. i installed the scanner software and everything from teh cd and i plug in scanner and i get a message- " the software for usb device "canoscan" is not available . Would you like to search for this software on teh internet?"

and tahts it scanner wont work no matter what i click.
I tried uninstalling the scanner software and then just pluggin scanner in but same problem. And if i search the net for the software it doesnt find anything

Any ideas i am lost on thsi one (i am also thinkin about getting tiger so could it possibly work on there ie: could it be an OS issue)

if you have photoshop, check if you can import any images from your scanner. If the driver has been properly installed, you should see this option under "import".
btw..i checked on othe canon site. they do have the driver for this scanner.
Go under supports and downloads. Just select your scanner driver

You can try VueScan - 8.0, which runs on 10.0 and up.
