Are you sure its the camera glowing green or is it the light next to it that glows green when your camera is on ? My guess is you are seeing the " hey your camera is on " light. If it is on all the time check your dock to make sure FaceTime isn't running.

Hope this helps

If you open an app that accesses the camera (a video chat in iChat, Photo booth, Factime), it'll start glowing.

Occasionally, the glow will persist even after the app in question has been quit. Try rebooting if that's the case.

sorry people, it is the green light to the right of my camera as i look at it.

i have re-booted but to no avail and there doesn't seem to be any apps open that use the camera.

no worries though, it is not a big problem it was just that i hadn't noticed it before..

thanks

That's the light which turns on when the camera is activated. If the light is on and the camera is off, try resetting the SMC

Thanks chscag,

I reset the SMC and it worked. It has also quietened down the fan that seemed to run wild at peculiar times. so double whammy for me.

thanks
