Want my drive space back!

I've been digitizing about 10 VHS tapes into my imac. I go back and delete all the files that seem to be taking up space and I don't need anymore after the DVDs are safely burned.

Before I started I had 250 gig, now that I'm done and thought I had cleaned up everything I only have 105 gig.

What am I overlooking and how can I get back to 250.

We don't use this thing for any tasks that take up any space at all???

What applications did you use to digitize the videos? There are some temp files somewhere I have a feeling you are not seeing.

You can try Disk Inventory X. It's free and will show you where everything is and what is taking the space.

I used Roxio VHS to DVD to get bideo off the tapes, then it goes into imovie where i add chapter breaks and then out to iDVD for the burn.

I'll try what you suggested to find the culprit!

Did you empty the trash bin?

Do look in the Movies folder and under iMovie. I remember iMovie putting a lot of stuff there.

This is the first thing I thought of too. You don't regain drive space until you take out the trash.
