Is there any hardware difference between the iPod nano 6th generation and the new one announced yesterday 4 October? Or does the new one have just new software? If there is indeed a difference, how to recognize the old from the new?

Does anyone know if the 2010 nano with the 1.2 update connects directly to nike+ shoe sensor or the polar wearlink+ heart rate monitor?

Apple is not at all clear. It describes (and prizes) a new iPod nano. However all innovations described seem to be due solely to the software. The question is:
Is the new nano just the old one with new software? I suspect it is. Can anybody confirm for sure?

It's the same exact Nano. Just updated soft/firmware. I updated mine today. Pics to follow..

The sensor isn't needed. The new Nike app is built right in and works with the pedometer app, and is recorded on the Nike website. Nothing extra needed. :) And now, pics!

Any images of what the nike app looks like when connected and reading from the sensor or more interestingly the heart monitor?

I'm debating whether to buy a HRM watch and strap for training or just the wear link strap and use the nano.

What features does the heart rate monitor on the iPod do; max rate, zones or anything like that?

Hey Doug! Old post, I know. I have the 6th generation iPod. But I'm having nothing but trouble hooking up to the Nike website with Nike+. The website just spins as I try to sign in. Or I get a blank page. And it won't let me connect thru facebook. This actually works for you?
