new mbp with overheating problems

last month i bought my macbook pro with the new os x lion and when i try to run any programs with the exception of safari and itunes my cpu temperature seems to rise to 80 degrees plus. i do not know weather this is a problem with lion or the computer its self so i was wonder if it is at all possible to restore my hard drive and reinstall it with snow leopard from the install disc i have

80 degrees what? C or F ? And what are you doing at the time the temperature goes up? And no, you can not install Snow Leopard on that machine if it was already pre-installed with Lion regardless of whether you have a disk. (No drivers for the new hardware.)
