Greetings,
I've recently bought my brothers old macbook a1181 (late 2008. or 2009. I don't recall. And after purchasing Lion for it - stupid as I am - I realized that none of the gestures or other fun gizmos don't actually work on the trackpad with a button.
Now comes the question, would it be possible to take the keyboard-part of the computer, with the old trackpad, and replace it with a new keyboard with a NEW trackpad (the one that's just a single pad)?

No. Since the trackpads are different sizes. There are issues as well.

You can buy the Apple bluetooth Magic Trackpad. It offers the same functionality, and I found it more comfortable the few times I tried it at the Apple store.
