Password issues

Hey mac users,
My iMac which Ive had since 2007, is suddenly having password issues... It refuses to take the passord including the file vault password. The screen just shakes or it says The computer cannot log into the user account right now. This has been going on for a week. No caps lock /Num lock is on and Ive rebooted it many times to no avail. A music CD is stuck in the drive . This has happened without any reason ... Can anyone help please? Im desperate
