Hi,

I'm new. I've searched the forum for an answer to this without any luck.

Is it possible to use an iphone as a power source?

For example, if I had a cord that attached from my iphone into say, a torch or speakers could I use the battery power from the iphone as the power source for the devices or is the power socket in the iphone a one way stream?

Thanks!

The iPhone is not designed to act as a "host" for other USB devices. As such, although it may be technically possible to change the pinout of the 30 pin connector by building a special cable, you'd run the risk of invalidating the warranty and/or damaging the phone (or attached device).
