• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi,

I have being trying for days to burn a movie I created onto a DVD, but my Mac Book Pro keeps kicking the DVD out minutes before it's finished.

I searched the forum, and now think that maybe my DVD burner is failing. I can live without it, if it is possible to share home movie files from a jump drive.

If it is possible, could someone please give me step by step instructions on how to do it. Thanks. :)

I have a MacBook Pro, Version 10.6.8. My iMovie is iMovie '09, Version 8.0.6 (821).

I can't give you step by step, but if you go to export from the Menu you should be able to export as an MV4 (mpeg) file. I have done this so I know it works, just not on my Mac where I can click off the steps for you.

Export the movie to your desktop...then simply drag it to a flashdrive. It will be the same finished movie file...( of your choosing ).
