Hi,

I will be purchasing 2 iMacs, which I would like to activate boot camp on both in order to run Quickbooks on the windows end. Would the 21.5-inch: 2.5GHz 4GB be sufficient, or should I add on the 8GB?

Thanks!

Suggest using 8GB of memory and install Windows 7 64 bit. This will enable Windows to access the fully memory. 32 bit can only access 3.5GB of memory regardless what is installed.

Probably a bit late to say now, but if you haven't ordered them yet, just order them with the 4GB RAM & upgrade them yourself with some after-market parts (it's really easy, just one screw to remove the RAM cover at the base of the machine & slot-in a couple of extra 2GB sticks in the two spare slots...)

Costs waaaaaaaaaaay less than upgrading at purchase...

I moved your thread a more appropriate forum.

Definitely agree with this. These days - and for 64-bit OS - I think 8GB is the new minimum you want to have to maintain performance.

Just be real careful inserting modules in the lower ram slots on an iMac. The slots are tight. Use gentle downward pressure until you feel a second click and the module is exactly parallel.
