I recently bought an old ibook from a yard sale. Somehow, I scattered all of the drivers and extensions and such, and I've recently been in the process of rearranging them into the right folders. Now, for some reason, my CD drive refuses to work. I've tried Audio CDs, game CDs, and even a Puppy Linux OS CD. And it refuses to load any of them. Infact, when I open up the hard drive and click on "AppleCD Audio Player f" the entire Mac freezes.

I was hoping some Macintosh guru could help me figure this out. I've only ever used PC's in the past running Linux or Windows.

Scattered all of the extensions and drivers? How in the world did you manage to do that? Your best bet might be to reinstall the OS, but without a working CD drive you may have to use firewire target disk mode, or an external drive.
