Screen size

When I enlarge screen to size I like, how can I make that the default size? Thanks for any help. Van

You're not really changing your display's "size" (since the physical dimensions of the display aren't changing). What you are changing is the resolution.

What you're looking for is your display's "native resolution". If you have a 21.5" iMac...the native resolution is usually 1920x1080.

To change the resolution pigoo3 is talking about above go to "System Preferences" -> "Display" and select the top one under Resolutions. This should be the native resolution of your machine.

??? Mine are listed from smallest to largest values.

Default? Once you set it, it's set. It's a global thing, not specific to a certain application. It should save through a restart also.

In my System Preferences in Display, mine are listed small to large, and does not list the resolution suggested as my native resolution.Any other suggestions? Van

Can you confirm which iMac model you have. Is it the 21.5" iMac you have listed in your profile?

If it doesn't actually have the resolutions listed (which it should), can you take a screenshot and show us this? I've never heard of this ever being the case.

All of the 21.5" iMac's have a "native resolution" of 1920 x 1080. So this resolution should certainly be in the resolution list in the the "Displays" system preference.

By the way...are you ABSOLUTELY sure you have a 21.5" iMac (your profile says 21"). This makes a VERY BIG difference!!!

In fact...as far as I can tell...there were no 21" iMac's (21.5") with a 2.4ghz cpu!

Now if you have a 20" iMac with a 2.4ghz cpu...this makes a BIG difference...since the native resolution is different. In which case...the native resolution would be 1680x1050.
