iTunes does not open when iPhone 4 connected

I do have this checked to occur, but it does not. Not really an issue, just somewhat buggy as it always did on my WinBlows computer, but will not on my new MacBook. Any ideas on this? Thanks!

There should be an option in iTunes under your iPhone that says "open iTunes automatically when this device is connected" check that box.

Yup. It's checked. No dice. No open.

Is iTunes the right version, i.e. do you need to update to the latest, to work with the phone?

I had the same problem and followed the above fix. It appeared the iphone 4 and ipad 1 both needed the "itunes helper" downloaded.
