I have 2 KRK RokIt 5's plugged into a PreSonus Audiobox (USB) via XLR cables. The system works, but when idle and I'm at the computer they start to crackle very faintly. Is it possible the monitors are blown out? I've barely used them. The cables are new and securely plugged in.

its probably something to do with the interface. My speakers tend to pop occassionally when idle, and if you crank the outputs you start to hear hiss. And thats just the interface being a bit wierd.

turn the monitor output down. do you still hear the crackle?
