Is my imac 64bit?

Is my late 2009 imac 64bit or 32bit, if 64bit can i use 32bit programs in snow leopard.

Yes it is capable you will have to hold down the 6 and 4 key while you boot up and in
SL the default is 32bit.

Osxx thanks for your reply, can i do this using my bluetooth keyboard, usually pressing anything on keyboard while booting does not work until the bluetooth driver is loaded on macx startup, therefore to late to activate any comands on boot.

As you stated along with other things it has to establish the link and by then its too late not sure if this has been updated in Lion someone else will have to answer that also if you boot into 64b with SL when you shut down it will default back to 32b. I am afraid for SL you will need a wired board.
