Dear All,

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM on my 2008 iMac ,....again. I'd like to install 8gb but the crucial memory tool says that the maximum this model can take is 4gb.. Just seems a little on the low side.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of installing more than the manufacturers recommended maximum?

Thanks in advance.

Officially, Apple says your machine can only accept 4 GB. However, MacTracker which is usually correct, says you can install 6 GB. That would be one 4 GB module plus one 2 GB module.
