While I like the aesthetic direction of Lion in most regards, one design decision I disagree with is making the icons in Finder's sidebar grey. This hurts one's ability to easily discern them from one another and adds nothing of value. As it turns out, I'm not alone in thinking this, and someone has made a SIMBL plugin to restore color to your world in Lion.
To install this:
1) Download and install SIMBL.
2) Unzip the download I linked above.
3) Put ColorfulSideBar.bundle into either /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins for all users, or ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins for just your account.
4) Either log out and back in, or force restart Finder.
5) Your Finder is colorful again! All credit goes to the fine folks at the Coolviewer Zoom blog.
