Hello,

Since my Mac doesn't have a DVD drive, I use my Windows PC and Cyberlink PowerDVD 11 to play DVDs. This application has several fancy functions/settings that can (and do) improve the video quality of DVD playback immensely.

How does DVD Player that comes with OS X stack up as far as video quality is concerned? Does it have any picture enhancing capabilities as well?

The DVD player that is standard with Mac hardware is a capable player. However, most folks seem to like using third party players which provide more options. I like and use VLC. You can download it from here. It's free.
