MacBook Pro 15 Unibody 5.3 what SSD works for sure?

Hi i want to put an sad in my optical drive bay BUT

i heard there are a lot of troubles with mac books especially since the 1.7 EFI firmware update with the data controller at 3gb/s


If i use a new drive of the latest generation with a 6gb/s connection will i get problems? or which drives will work because you have used them already?

I would like to have a sand force 2200 or newer drive if possible.

The SATA 3 (6Gb/s) drives have experienced a few early problems, and your Mac will only give you SATA 2 (3Gb/s) speeds anyway, so if you want reliability I'd go for a SATA 2 drive. My recommendation (and that of many others using this forum) is an OWC Mercury Extreme.
