Help needed with BOM files

Hi guys new to this, just got a imac g4 and having problems with it cant seem to
run anything i download it keeps telling me there are no bill of material files, i dont have a os disc to reinstall any ideas what i can do thanks.

What version of Mac OS is it running? Sounds like you may be running an antiquated version of the OS, trying to open newer software.
