    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.

Transferring Final Cut Express Serial Number?

Hi all,

About 5 years ago I made a film using Final Cut Express HD 3.5 on my MacBook. Before completion of the film, my laptop's hard-drive crashed. Luckily, I have the whole thing backed up on my external hard-drive. But unfortunately, I can't install the FCE on my new iMac because both serial numbers are in use (on my crashed MacBook, and the other download I gave to my father).

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer the original registration from my laptop to a new device so that I don't have to buy another copy of 3.5?

Thanks.
