• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have a dual processor iMac purchased in 08 and I am running OS 10.
I have been putting a video together in iMovie 8 using converted video files and I had not been having any issues. I have about 7 min. of video completed. I go to import movie from file, as I had been doing all night, and I all of a sudden get a message "file can not be copied....error code -37"
I tried deleting all unsed clips, even got rid of some old videos no longer needed in other projects. I tried restarting iMovie and the computer. I also tried opening a new project and tried importing but got the same error message. I also tried opening an old project and tried to import in it, but no luck. I am a teacher and I was going to use this video for a school wide video presentation on 9/11. Any help is appreciated.
